Tell others of Jesus and to do it with passion

What could be better than to make disciples of all the nations and to share God’s love freely with all we meet.  The more I think about this and look at what’s happening around me the more I see that love is the answer.  Not just human love but God’s love, look at Jesus he healed the sick, spoke to the marginalised, loved the un-loveable and untouchables and his love was full on love, no strings attached.  How awesome to bless someone with God’s touch, do something great for them in the name of Jesus.  Not sure yet what this is always going to look like but it’s certainly on my daily to do list – love like Jesus did and let’s be honest, we have the same Holy Spirit within us that he did so why not do something amazing for someone today in the name of Jesus.

  • Matthew 28: 19-20 – Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
  • Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
  • Luke 10:1-3 – After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest. Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.
  • Luke 4: 18-19 – “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”

How amazing to love like Jesus did, to carry his glory with transparency, to love with a sincerity that transcends our experiences, rejecting differences and embracing diversity, turning adversity into opportunities to make disciples of all the nations, creating foundations for God’s Kingdom, creating awareness of God’s own son, to be a temple of the Holy Spirit empowering us to be God’s witnesses, appointed and anointed to do his will and still we struggle to see the power that we have living in us, the self-same power that lived in Jesus, it’s time we believed it and harnessed that power, the power of love, the power of his sacrifice on the cross, a power that he wants us to harness as we stand up, walk tall and witness that our God is a mighty healer, deliverer and Saviour of all the nations, we are his labourers ordained to proclaim his favour, to give others a flavour of his compassion, to tell others of Jesus and to do it with passion.

I stand on God’s word, his Holy Scripture

I was spending some time with God in prayer yesterday, praying about a calling which I believe God has put on my heart and all of a sudden the prayer just came out and I was angry but it was a righteous anger.  It was like I had found the passion and this was exactly what I needed to be doing and telling others, I saw what I feel is an injustice, a misrepresentation of God’s truth and I got passionate about this and through this prayer the vision just seemed to get clearer, if you are angry about something then you are going to want to put it right, correct the balance and that’s exactly how I felt.

  • Ephesians 4:26 – ‘In your anger do not sin’
  • James 1:19-20 – 19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

If we know the motivation of our anger and harness that for good then I believe we can produce a form of righteousness that God loves.  Let’s face it anger is a difficult word and can conjure up pictures of violence or rage but can also be translated as passion and sometimes we need a passion and a belief to make things happen, to bring about change.

A desire for justice, wanting to break the cycle of aching hearts, needing to set apart the lies and the hate, never too late to reach out in truth and love, the battle is real, the fight is bloody, the enemy muddies the water distorting the picture, but as I stand on God’s word, his Holy Scripture, I am richer for my faith is what saved me, my faith has set me free, released my aching heart, anointed to play my part, to bring good news, proclaim freedom and bind up the broken, God has spoken and I have listened, his plan has been written, my position ordained, claimed by my heavenly Father today I stand stronger, taller as I lay my life on the alter I will not falter for the Lord my God stands with me, I rejoice for my Redeemer has chosen me.

I have passion to become more than a conqueror, a leader, a warrior

Sometimes I can see progress, other times I don’t feel like I am changing, but I take heart from this verse:

Philippians 1:6 – being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus

Jesus chose me for a reason and sees all the potential that I can’t see, with the Holy Spirit working in me I can do amazing things for God and that is exactly what I want to be doing, unfortunately I have never been the most patient person and that’s a lesson I think God is teaching me right now, be still and know that he is God.

Patience, not my strong point, but the point is that when I gave my life to him work had to begin to transform me, to remove the darkness of the past and let his light shine in, preparing me for greater things, his greatness planted in me like a seed that is to be nurtured and nourished with God’s word, his plans for me immeasurably more than all I could ask for or ever imagine, he’s given me gifts and now I have passion to become more than a conqueror, a leader, a warrior, trust is the key and he didn’t bring me this far to leave me, so I trust his process designed to make the most of me, I am a work in progress, so watch this space, have faith, have patience, God isn’t finished with me, I will evolve, grow and improve because of his immense love for me.

The enemy is oppressing women religiously,

There is so much hurt and pain in the world, oppression and persecution and I was reading about women and how the enemy loves to target women, like really destroy us.  But then I got to thinking we need to stand up as one united army of God, women we have a voice, we can make a difference in our local communities, our nations and the world if we are just obedient to God and ask him what we can do to make a difference.

Ezra 10:4 – Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it.’

Human tragedies, the enemy is oppressing women religiously, his plan depends on systematically destroying women’s identities but see we are free, no longer enslaved to Satan whose plan hinges on infringing our Father’s calling and as long as he succeeds in silencing half the population of every nation he has only half the battle, so let’s not let him rattle us, for God has already won the battle and us women we are not merely chattels we are called and prepared for this moment, more important than we realise so it’s time to rise, fall into alignment with God’s plan, women of God rise up, sisters of influence, untapped source of heavenly power, strategically placed here for a reason and this is our season, our time, faith filled women of God speaking wisdom, reversing the direction of Satan’s destruction, sisters release your passion, Father release and liberate your daughters, love without borders, a new order of faith filled women carrying your word on their tongues, rise up women of faith for now is the time, courageous women of unwavering faith, living in incredible times, light in the darkness, part of God’s intricate and perfect plan.

Anoint me freely, burn in me fire of God

After watching the war room I have started to read “Fervent” a book that looks at strategies for prayer and in the first chapter suggest you look at your “passion” for prayer.  I have taken a number of verses and written a prayer that I hope will refocus me daily on being passionate in my prayer.

  • Hebrews 10:39 – But we aren’t people who pull back and are destroyed. We are people who believe and are saved.
  • Ephesians 2:10 –  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do
  • Psalm 136:2 – Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures for ever.
  • Job 19:27 – I myself will see him with my own eyes – I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
  • Psalm 84:2 – My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

God I want to thank you that your love lasts forever, I want to thank you that you loved us so much you sent your only son to die for us, thank you that you love me as if I were the only one, I call upon you now because you are worthy to be praised, you have saved me from my enemies and I am not someone to pull back or be destroyed, I fall to my knees and ask you to rekindle the fire in me, anoint me freely, burn in me fire of God, fulfil  the destiny that YOU gave me, help me recognise that you have the most AMAZING plan for me, you have planted GREATNESS in my life, your sacrifice has paid the price of all my sins, praise you in the highest heaven, Father let me step into all the gifts you’ve given with passion, let me lay aside all earthly thoughts as I come before you Lord, how my heart yearns for you, my body cries out to hear from the living God and as I read your word my heart bursts with pride, you are forever on my side, you fight for me, you care for me, you love me unconditionally, Father I bring my life to you today, use me in whatever way you will to bring you the power and the glory, I am sorry for any apathy of the past, but here at last I stand, burning with fire and a fierce desire to serve you unreservedly.

I have a passion for this man named Jesus

I was watching a clip of a young man giving his testimony, he was so passionate about Jesus and said clearly and with such force “I have a passion for this man named Jesus”,  and when you heard where Jesus had brought him from you could so understand the love and the passion for our great and redeeming Saviour, it was a really moving clip.

I too have an amazing passion for Jesus and for what he has done for me and as I mentioned in my Blog earlier in the week was upset by others posting stuff on facebook that was anti Christian, much of which took the Bible totally out of context.  Why do people do that, they cling on to a verse or word that is taken totally out of context to hammer home their point that Christians are wrong?  My prayer really is that those people will take the time to read the Bible in context, to listen to full teaching on the word but I suppose in many cases that won’t happen unless we are the catalyst in their lives.  If people can see the change in us, the way we live then that could be the reason for them to delve deeper into our faith, that may be the game changer that helps them to see who Jesus is and what he can do for them.  Let’s face it all we really want is for others to follow Jesus, to get it, to fully comprehend the power of his love and so surely we need to ensure we are living our lives fully committed to God, passionate about Jesus and passionate about our faith.

I have a passion for this man named Jesus, and nothing or no one can separate us, there are not words enough to express my love for him and his love for me, can you not see that this is the man who can set you free, you don’t know him yet, but you can, you don’t yet understand and you’re blaming him for all the bad stuff in your life, questioning his word out of context, making it a nonsense because you are not honest in pursuing the answers, yet God pursues you even when you run from him, mock him, make fun of his disciples, and sure it costs nothing to join the crowd yet everything to stand apart, do you have the heart for being different, in this world of hate you have a choice, choose life, choose love, choose to invest time in finding out about this “God of Love”, stop wishing your life away, you can wish upon a star and I can pray to the God who flung them into space, you can turn from his face, I receive his overwhelming mercy and grace, you can hide but not forever for he is relentless in his pursuit of you, he loves the very bones of you, desires to get to know you, giving you a purpose, no longer worthless but worthwhile, significant in his magnificent Kingdom, accepting of his freedom, I have a passion for this man named Jesus, take some time to see this from my perspective, get creative with your thoughts, if you do the same thing you’ve always done you get the same results you always get, Jesus is ready to forgive and forget, to let you have a life of abundant joy and vibrancy, to live a life free from anxiety, free from worry, free from the very things that hold you in slavery, it’s all written in his book, take a look some time without your eyes of bigotry, open your heart to see what it really says, talk to God like a simple prayer, ask him to help you make sense of his word, take time to ask God what he can do for you, following Jesus is the best thing you will ever do.
