God is with me as he was with Moses

I’m speaking tonight at a local church who are training their home group leaders in pastoring those with same sex attraction (SSA).  First of all I am delighted that they are being so proactive in their training.  I believe this is the way forward, churches need to address this issue not just for their members and congregation, but also for those within their churches who are hurting because of loved ones struggling with SSA.

I know God will use me tonight to bring hope and love into this area and his verse for me today as I grow slightly nervous of public speaking is this:

Joshua 1:5 – No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

How awesome to be able to give God the glory in this way, how awesome that God stands by me all the days of my life, supporting me, helping me and guiding me into opportunities to bring my experiences and my testimony to others.

No one can stand against me, doesn’t matter what I do or say, when I do it for Jesus, when I speak of my God, tell of his love, his grace and his mercy, I have the victory, I read about Moses, how God spoke to him from a burning bush, parted the waters of the red sea, and I see that Moses was chosen to bring redemption to God’s people, God is with me as he was with Moses, doesn’t that knowledge show us how much we mean to our God, how as with Moses he’s shaping us, preparing us for service, preparing us to do great works, he knows our idiosyncrasies and our quirks yet everything can be used by God to spread the news of his awesome love, stand tall for you will not fall, step out in faith, respond to God’s call.

  1. Praying for you … may the Lord fill you with His love, joy, and wisdom. Before speaking or sharing, I find it helpful to read and pray through Eph. 6, knowing that when the Lord’s truth is shared a spiritual battle ensues. The Lord will indeed be with you!
