I have been reading about walking in the light today and this led me to thinking about walking in wisdom. If I ask God for his wisdom and help that then enables me to be much better at walking in the light, allowing God to highlight those areas of my life that need work and those where I am heading in the right direction. As there is no darkness whatsoever in God his light helps me to become a better Christian as he highlights those areas that need work.
1 John 1:5 – Here is the message we have heard from him and announce to you. God is light. There is no darkness in him at all.
I have based this poem on Proverbs 8
WISDOM CRIES OUT
Wisdom cries out, understanding raises her voice, I rejoice, the paths cross and she takes her stand, I understand that this is where I make my choice, be watchful turning away from the simplicity of humanity, rejecting the old foolish ways, listening for trustworthy things that God says, I open my mouth knowing that I will speak what’s right, the light of God shines through my thoughts, my actions and my words, I detest wickedness, my words are blessed, upright to those who share in the knowledge for those no longer in bondage for those who see that God’s instruction is more precious than silver, his knowledge more prized than gold, his wisdom more treasured than rubies, that no desire of the human heart can compare, for those who use these gifts lift themselves above evil, above arrogance and pride, they have the insight to flee from evil behaviour and perverse speech, decreeing that they have power and wisdom to fight for this Kingdom, for those who love as they are loved, seek so that they find the riches and honour bestowed on them by God, the God who formed me long ago, gave birth to me, all my days destined for me, constantly watching over me, filled with delight day by day I rejoice then listen as he says, blessed are those who keep my ways, who listen and are wise, who do not disregard my word but watch daily at the door, for you have found me and you have found life, received favour from the Lord, beneficiary of the ultimate sacrifice.
