My foundations reflect your glory

I received prayer yesterday and some words of knowledge which were so pertinent to my journey right now.  God revealed to me that where I am striving to put things right in a family situation, he doesn’t want me to take the responsibility on alone.  He showed me that he was with me in it but also opened my eyes that I couldn’t affect the decisions and choices of others, I can just do what I can do and allow him to work in their lives.

The other awesome thing was that God sees me as a Sapphire 😊 – I am precious to him, how awesome is that??!

So, in the middle of the night he then told me that Sapphire represented Sarah (my name) and Fire.  It was his play on words and it made me smile so much!  God is good and he sure has a sense of fun. I am on fire for God and his love and blessings mean I am growing in my love for him on a daily basis.  I have been reminded of this verse from Isaiah which was given to me as a word of encouragement back in June 2015 and I felt like it was an endorsement from God that my foundations were coming together just fine!!

Isaiah 54:11 – Jerusalem, you are sad and discouraged, tossed around in a storm.  But I, the Lord, will rebuild your city with precious stones; for your foundation I will use blue sapphires

Rebuilding me so that I am bright as the sky, my foundations reflecting your glory, surely goodness and mercy have followed me all the days of my journey, no longer sad or discouraged, encouraged by words from above, the waters are calmer, my heavenly father has stilled the seas, the storm clouds now on the distant horizon, the enemy silenced as I become more enlightened, rebuilt by God to his specification, my foundations starting to rise from the ashes, beauty replacing the pain of missed chances, passion rising within my soul as Jesus continues to make me whole.

I am beautiful, cherished, special and loved.

God is bigger than all we see with our eyes. By that I mean that we inevitably fail to see the bigger picture.  At first glance we don’t see the intricacy of the work God is doing all around us or in us and we need to ask for revelation to fully understand his plans for us.  One thing is sure, we don’t need to strive to achieve, because God tells us to stand still, to wait on him.  We don’t need to doubt because we know that no word from God, none of his promises for our lives will fail.  Most excitingly we don’t need to be concerned because whatever God has in store for us, whatever his plans they are out of this world and out of our realm of understanding in their perfection.  We may not understand now what God is doing, but rest assured it is all for our good.

  • 1 Samuel 12;16 – Now then, stand still and see this great thing the Lord is about to do before your eyes!
  • Micah 7:7 – But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Saviour; my God will hear me.
  • Luke 1:37 – For no word from God will ever fail
  • 1 Corinthians 2:9 – However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him-

It’s good to have  a vision ourselves, to have dreams and aspirations in our walk with God, because his plans are even greater than ours, his vision even more perfect and he will direct our paths way beyond anything we can think of to glorify his name.

I have a vision for the beauty and the glory of who God created me to be, it’s not always been that way, I can say with clarity that it took some time for me to see myself as beautiful, a lifetime of abuse and self-doubt resulted in my pulling out of any conversation with God which I found hard, and then he helped me to see what he saw when he looked at me, beauty, sensitivity, creativity, all those things he created me to be slowly blossoming as he encouraged me to process his love for me, he opened my eyes to the intricacy of his plans for me, and gradually, as he said he loved me I would stop looking over my shoulder to see who he loved, when he said rest in me, I would take his words seriously, not questioning my suitability to be invited into his presence, and when he said he wanted me as part of his family, I didn’t think he was crazy, a Princess Warrior on the march, clothed in strength and dignity, my personality refined, my character defined, my hopes and desires aligned with those of the one true God and one day I will see the big picture not just the colour God is currently using in my painting, but I’m no longer waiting to understand his plans, stepping out in faith and trust I crush the enemy’s lies and deceit under my feet as I stand in agreement with God’s word, I am beautiful, cherished, special and loved.

I know that I am far from perfect

I was praying this morning and wanted to praise God for all he is, all he has done and all he will do in my life.  I then started to think about all Jesus is to me.

You are the Glory of the Lord, the Light of the World, you are the Word, the great I AM, Alpha and Omega, beginning and end, you are my friend and as I raise my arms to worship I know that I am far from perfect yet you take me as I am, you love me right here, right now, you show me your love every day, abundant blessings are coming my way, Son of God, Prince of Peace, reaching into my life to bring me a piece of heaven on earth, a Saviour’s birth so long ago, a child who would become the Man of Sorrows, the man who would die alone, Cornerstone, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, my Redeemer, my Mediator, intercessing directly with God on my behalf, King of the Jews, the Good News of great joy, baby boy destined for glory, a man who’s changed my story, Immanuel God with us, Immanuel God with me, now and for eternity.

I take my princess crown and cast if before you

Last night at our Ladies group we sang Love divine all loves excelling, what an amazing hymn.  I particularly love the last verse:

Finish, then, thy new creation;
pure and spotless let us be.
Let us see thy great salvation
perfectly restored in thee;
changed from glory into glory,
till in heaven we take our place,
till we cast our crowns before thee,
lost in wonder, love, and praise.

How awesome to sing that verse knowing that one day I will “cast my crown” before the Lord, I have an amazing image in my head of that moment.  It also speaks of God finishing his new creation, I know I will never be finished while here on earth but it’s an incredible thought that one day I will be exactly as God designed me to be.

  • James 1:12 – Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
  • Psalm 103: 4-5 – who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
  • Isaiah 35:10 – and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
  • Isaiah 61:3 – and provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendour.
  • 1 Corinthians 9:25 – Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last for ever.
  • 1 Peter 5:4 – And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
  • Revelation 2:10 – Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.

God you are amazing and I will be praising your name for all eternity, you are awesome and I feel so privileged to live in your protection, to know that my life has direction, a purpose, I question whether you have even scratched the surface of your love for me?  God you redeemed me from the pit and saw fit to crown this sinner’s head with a crown of love and compassion, fashioned a crown of beauty instead of ashes, your sacrificial blood washes over me and makes me clean, I have never seen such love before, such undeserved incredible love, such amazing grace and on that day in heaven when at last I gaze upon your face having completed this race I will be blessed knowing that I stood the test and passed with flying colours, I am not afraid of what I may suffer I have the comforter living within me, I reach out to you God and you rescue me, when you appear on that glorious day you will crown me with a crown of glory that will never fade away and until that day Lord as I serve here on earth I take my princess crown and cast if before you a small but heartfelt token of my immense love for you.

Shout for joy, jump up and down and make some sounds

My online reading today concentrated on Psalm 66 – and I just loved it!  So much to thank God for today, another day for me of edification, of God revealing just a bit more of his path for me through other people and a day of me starting to feel a bit more secure that this is where God wants me right here, right now.

Psalm 66: 1-2 – Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious.

Just had to put my spin on this Psalm!

PSALM 66 My Way!

Shout for joy, jump up and down and make some sounds, sing the glory of God’s name as we tell the world how awesome you are, all that you do is great and powerful, your enemies bow down before you, cringing and whinging at the sound of your name, and we take great joy in saying, “come and see, come and see what God has done”, his awesome deeds for all mankind, like turning the red sea into dry land, his hand halting the waves and stopping the tides as he guided his chosen people home, rejoice because we know he will rule for ever by his power, every hour he watches over the nations, not one rebellion will be successful against him, all people who live on earth will one day praise the Lord and it will be so loud it will be heard across the universe, God’s preserved our lives, saved us from lies, kept our feet from stumbling and falling, he called us, tested our resolve and we are refined like silver and gold, we endured oppression, persecution, imprisonment yet he’s now brought us to a place of abundance and we will come before him with our sacrifices, all that we have, all our gifts laid at his feet, we draw near to you God with respect and regard, we’ll no longer find it hard to speak of all you’ve done for us, you see even in the lowest place when we called out to you in praise your grace shone through, you listened to all that we’d gone through, you heard our prayer, praise God, you listened, you gave us your undivided attention, rejection was never an option, you listened, you answered, you heard and you never lost your nerve, you never withheld your love from us, praise to you God for your immeasurable love.

Paperclip Christian created with God’s vision in mind

I went to my Sister’s church today, how weird to go to a different church, I felt a bit out of my comfort zone and then that was what the whole message of the service was about so it was a kind of interesting time in many ways.  We were all asked to go to a table full of objects and pick one which we felt the Holy Spirit was drawing us towards, take it away and pray over its meaning for us.  Now I can’t tell you what was on that table apart from the one item I took, a giant paper clip.  It jumped right out at me (not literally!), I pocketed it and went home.  I prayed over this item and asked God to direct me in where he was leading me.

OK so put simply a paperclip holds papers together in the right order, so initially I felt that quite  simply my role may be just that, to be a tool that holds others together, to serve to keep people together, to be the glue maybe which then keeps important parts of God’s plan from failing?

But then I got to thinking more, paperclips are versatile and as I googled uses for paperclips I came across a statistic that only 20% of paperclips are used for the purpose they were originally created for and that got me to consider:

Ephesians 2:10 – For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do

So I was created by God as a human and humans have limits, but maybe just maybe God didn’t choose me to do what average humans do, maybe just maybe he created me to be something quite different, something versatile, something unique and something big for him (note I picked a giant paperclip from the table).  So now I’m praying over this, God I believe you want me to be versatile for you, to be flexible to work for you and to think “BIG” about how I can serve you whether in or without of my comfort zone, show me your paths oh Lord.

A paperclip Christian, OK now I’m listening, paperclip Christian created with God’s vision in mind, he defines his plans, draws up his blueprint and looks for the cement to hold together all the elements of the plan, each stage essential, fundamental that all play their part and don’t fall apart, paperclip Christian ready to listen, to share the vision, to think Big and think Victory, flexibility key to defeating the enemy, paperclip Christian holding a key position, uniquely commissioned by God to do things that bring him the glory, paperclip Christian part of God’s plan, part of God’s mission.

All credit to you God for I am nothing without you

My Sunday Psalm today was Psalm 57 – all glory be to God, all power to his name, may he be honoured and extolled for ever!!

Psalm 57:5 – God, may you be honoured above the heavens. Let your glory be over the whole earth.

All credit to you God for I am nothing without you, you take care of everything for me, all respect to you God when I call out your name you carry out your plan for me, you answer me from heaven, you rescue me and pull me from the mire every time I tire of those around me seeking to put me down, whose words wound me, whose actions alarm me, your love surrounds me, may you be exalted, be esteemed above all earthly things, my heart is unwavering in prayer and praise, I want to make music to praise you, my spirit is awake wanting to celebrate and adore you, so great is your love, so immense the reality of your Spirit living in me, so glorious to serve the victorious Saviour, how privileged we are to be part of the plans of God the creator, I’ve had a flavour of God’s favour and my place in his family is never in danger for I am adopted, loved and anointed, my sins voided, my future decided, thanks to the love of Jesus my friend and maker who has given me life for ever and ever.
