Giving your vision to God, a lesson I have learnt this last week after a friend encouraged me to write down my desires and vision, present it before God and offer my first fruits/offerings to him. Writing out the vision was a great process and really helped me focus on my desire to serve God but also was an (and is an ongoing) opportunity to ask God whether my vision is in line with his plans for my life. Clarifying that helps me to understand how events that happen are being used by God to shape and refine me and you know, that really does make it easier when things don’t seem to be going the way you want them to!
· 2 Kings 19:14 – Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord
· Habakkuk 2:2 – Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
· Proverbs 13:12 – Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
GIVE YOU MY HEART
I give you my heart, my desires, all I require is the faith to walk it out, to become who you’re calling me to be, to commit myself faithfully to ministry, I know the Lord is always with me, running with perseverance the race that is set before me, here God, here I am send me, this my vision laid before you, shape me for your purpose and then let me run with it, with you on the case my hope will not be deferred, my heart will not be sick, my longings fulfilled, the tree of life flourishing through me, the Spirit of God honing and perfecting me, every experience used to shape me, my ambition to further the gospel of Jesus.
