Talk about the “Big Bang”, talk about a life changing man

Happy Easter, what a glorious day of celebration.  After Friday and Saturday where death and uncertainty were rife, we now come to a day of excitement and rejoicing that our Lord Jesus is raised from the dead, he is risen, glorified, lifted high.

Luke 9:22 – And he said, ‘The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life

Psalm 16:8-11 – I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Romans 8:37 – No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us

BIG BANG

Talk about the “Big Bang”, talk about a life changing man, this the greatest day in history, the day Jesus bought victory over death and sin, the day Jesus changed everything, “he is not here, he is risen”, yes death has lost its sting, death could not contain him, nothing could keep him away from us, no love could get more serious, he had to suffer many things, but was not shaken, my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices, my voice sings out in praise and worship to my God who considers me worth the ultimate sacrifice, laying down his own son’s life, so that I will never be abandoned to the realm of the dead, he will never see me rot or decay, because he has led the way and conquered sin,  death could not contain him, he has made known to me the path of life, I turn my eyes towards him and am filled with joy in his presence, today the evidence speaks of victory, resurrection of the Son who died to save me.

He is risen just as he said..

Struck me today that Jesus told the disciples at least three times that he would rise again after three days but still they were all shocked and amazed that the tomb lay empty… praise God that he keeps his promises and maybe we should have a bit more faith at times…

1 Corinthians 15:55-57 – ‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

HE IS RISEN

He is risen just as he said, you see he told you he wouldn’t stay dead, “I will be killed but after three days I will rise” so surely it’s no surprise that the tomb was empty, he gave us plenty of warning that on Sunday morning he would be gone, but we are weak it’s Jesus who is strong, our minds only have the capacity to recognise the finality of death, humanity struggling to accept the reality that Jesus was a far cry from normality, a deity, son of God, perfection required for resurrection, death defeated so we could be completed, yes Jesus trampled death with death, he died, he rose and he’s coming again, the tomb is empty, Jesus forever glorified, forever lifted high defeated the night, death and the enemy where is your victory?  Life is mine, I am free because that day Jesus died for me, spent three days defeating sin and death and yes he did that all for me, overcoming pain, rising again, the tomb was empty but he never left, his time on earth an investment in our future, he was a mover and shaker, Jesus my maker mixing it up with the Jews and the Pharisees, Jesus my God dying for me and Jesus your God dying for you, Hallelujah Christ is risen, the definition of love, Jesus hanging on that cross.

“I know that my redeemer lives”, risen and returning, this is my God

What a message this morning, the first verse that jumped out of my reading today, I know that my Redeemer Lives.  Yes indeed, AMEN to that – just think everyone needs to have the opportunity to hear that message…

Job 19:25 – I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.

Hebrews 4:16 – 16 – Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need

I KNOW HE LIVES

What greater words to have on your lips, “I know that my redeemer lives”, risen and returning, this is my God, and I will see him standing on the earth for I have received his undeserved yet unreserved grace, I embrace his freely given gift of life, I seize the opportunities his sacrifice opened up for me, I live by faith not fear, I come with confidence before his throne knowing who I am in God, aware of what that means for me, my chains are gone I’ve been set free, your Spirit God lives in me, I live in the freedom of God’s amazing grace, I face each and every trial in the sure and certain knowledge of God’s parenthood and all good things flow from my loving Father, I have never felt more beauty and love than from my Father God above, his love surpasses all my experiences, Holy one returning soon, my heart belongs to you, my heart is yours, I praise and worship without end, unrestricted love I give, for I have faith, I have a hope, I am redeemed and I know you live.
