Our lives are saturated in victory

I have been thinking about the past and how the enemy tries to use it to drag me down.  But the thing is, however hard he tries, as long as I keep my eyes on God he will fail.  Was talking to my counsellor about my scars the other day and how I still feel a degree of shame when I look at them.  With summer coming it’s hard to always keep them covered so I need to learn to embrace them.  They are part of my story but they also reflect the victory God has wrought in that area of my life.  So, looking at them positively is a much better tactic than the negative, shame filled way. Embrace your past, it makes you who you are and shows you how far God has brought you.

1 John 4:4 – You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, what a name, Jesus is the name above all names, and we claim the victory in his name, victory over death, victory over fear, victory over all the little things that we can’t clear from our heads, the thoughts that nag away night and day, gone, defeated, our lives are saturated in victory, our sinful nature history, our story is one of overcoming, a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, twists and turns, as we learn to discern the voice of God, listening hard as the enemy raises the sound, shouting his deceit and his lies in his urgent quest to reclaim our lives, as he sharpens the knives we put on our armour, the army of God is on the move, nothing to prove for the victory was claimed when Jesus conquered the grave, but we march for the Lord, we march for his Kingdom, greatness is his and we want to witness, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus his name is power, his name the name above all names.

I no longer reach for a blade, I reach for my Bible

Praises to God in the highest heavens today – I am celebrating the power of God’s love, mercy and grace as today sees me one year on from the last time I used a blade and self-harmed.  AWESOME, God is so good and I praise and thank him for being in my life.

This is a message for anyone who may be struggling with something in their life, God WILL make a way, never give up hope, never take your eyes off God and you will overcome

1 Peter 1: 3-5 – Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

I have overcome, I no longer run from God, I run for God, I no longer hide in shame, I praise his name, I no longer reach for a blade, I reach for my Bible cos now I’m a disciple of my God who set me free, he loves me unconditionally and see he loved me while I was still messed up he helped me to clean up my life, to deal with life’s struggles in a new way so now I pray when things get tough, now I talk to God when life is rough, anxiety and stress are best given to God, anger once a danger replaced with a new calm because I know that my name is written on God’s palm, fear no longer comes near me and the enemy no longer deceives me cos my God looked down on me in mercy and gave me the victory, to him be the glory.

Our life on earth transitory

Yesterday was a struggle but handing stuff to God is the only way to cope when the enemy tempts us to despair.  Tempting may not be in the form of trying to get us to sin it may be taunting us about our choices trying to make us uncertain or unclear about our walk with God. That’s certainly what was happening to me but this verse is so important to me:

Romans 8:38-39 – For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So talking to God and listening for his words was the way forward and today I feel things are resolved and I am much calmer and closer to God

God has overcome the world, be of good cheer, OK there may be trouble ahead but God has already told you he’s been there before you, and on top of that he put in you a spirit of power and love so isn’t that enough for you, God is with you, in you, greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world, basically you have God and he is with you, the enemy will try and reach in and upset the equilibrium, but stay strong, nothing can separate you from God’s love, remember when things seem rough, neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate you from the love of God how amazing to read in God’s word that he never leaves us or forsakes us and I for one give thanks in all circumstances for the love I have received since the day I first believed, I fix my eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, you see what is seen is temporary, our life on earth transitory but what is unseen is eternal, this life is not a rehearsal this is it, our chance to be a part of God’s Kingdom on earth to claim the second birth that leads us to his heavenly kingdom, may that kingdom come soon and God’s will be done and then we can praise our Saviour all the day long.

God does not want you to endure trouble

John 16:33

‘I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

We can be comforted by the fact that Jesus knew we would have times of trouble in our lives and should be encouraged by his words. When troubles come I for one can be slow to remember God’s great promises and I ask him now to help me rejoice in his victory even when I may not feel totally at peace with my life and to remind me that I too am an overcomer.

Here’s the thing…God does not want you to endure trouble, God does not want you to bubble over with despair, God does not want you to ask him where he is or why he’s not answering when you are battling with your feelings, his death on the cross has true meaning, he came so that we may have peace. He doesn’t want you puzzled or to struggle on alone, no, he wants to own every situation that you are part of, wants to fill the void with his love because he knew that in this world we would have distress, so this is what he promised, “I have overcome the world”, take heart, gain courage, my message is clear I give you peace, be not afraid, I give you love, be not dismayed.
