Went to a conference today and we were all given a luggage label. On it we were encouraged at some point through the day to write a message or lesson we believed we had received from God. Mine reads:
“I’ll lead you to the right seat.”
Not that profound, yet amazingly apt and reassuring for my present situation and for my future ministry. It spoke to me of God’s intricate planning, of how, like the theatre usher with his torch he will guide us on the right path to the seat he has reserved just for us.
So, if like me, plans that you thought were right for your life are not happening as you would expect, just stop, look to God and remember, he will lead you to the right seat, the place he needs you to be to fulfil his plans for your life.
THE RIGHT SEAT
God will lead you to the right seat, you may think it’s that chair over there, the one you’ve set your sights on, the one you’ve planned to sink right into with a fluffy throw and matching cushions, but that one may not meet God’s requirement, he has a better plan for you, a chair with your name on it, look, this is how it goes, God is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path, God meets our every need it’s just that sometimes we don’t heed his word, we think our way is better, we don’t do things to the letter, we try and cut corners letting Satan fool us, but Jesus died to overcome that fool Satan, the deceiver defeated by our Saviour, so when you fix your eyes on a chair make sure it’s a chair that God has chosen, pulled up to the banqueting table, you know, the one with a banner with your name on it, that’s the chair that God’s got for you, God will lead you to the right seat, maybe not tomorrow, perhaps not next week, but there’s learning in the journey, there’s preparation, foundations being laid, connections being made, follow the light, stick to it like glue, be flexible, keep upbeat and God will lead you to the right seat
