Where is your faith, you serve a God of power?

Having faith in all situations is something I feel we strive towards.  Some things we can have a strong faith about and others we struggle with.  I was thinking today about the woman with the issue of blood, who reached out and touched the hem of the clothes Jesus was wearing.

Matthew 9: 20-22 – Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”  Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

What incredible faith she had as well as courage to actually put herself in that situation.  Perhaps we could learn from her example and be bolder about being disciples of God, after all we are anointed to heal the sick, bind up the broken hearted, set the captives free and bring light to the prisoners.  How awesome if we had the fait to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and boldly step out to pray for others with purpose, or act in a way outside of our comfort zone to bring much needed healing, support and light to others.

Isaiah 61:1 – The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

Where is your faith, you serve a God of power, a God who never let’s you down, he closed the Lion’s mouth for Daniel, and for Joshua he made the sun stand still, he parted the Red Sea for Moses and raised his friend Lazarus from the dead, he opened the prison for Peter who walked right past the guards, he provided a child for Sarah and Abraham and that was against all the odds, he healed the blind man, opened the ears of the deaf and the woman who reached out and touched the hem of his garment was healed in an instant, her faith had set her free, God let me have faith as focussed, a heart as willing, let me step out and proclaim your freedom, bringing light to the darkness and being  a beacon of hope to those who are broken, help me be courageous, let me be outrageously fixated on you, showing faith in my actions and in all that I do.
