Lift up your head, your crown is slipping

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 –  Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

If there’s one passage in the Bible that could be used as a manual for life this is surely it?  I am sure you are with me when I say that if things are tough, rejoicing somehow changes my perspective (I heard it said that if we lift our heads up our crowns don’t slip!)  Prayer in all circumstances is essential and how much better if our prayer is that we are a blessing to God, that our souls bring him joy and pleasure through the way we engage with our circumstances.  God wants this for us, who are we to not follow this advice?

LIFT UP YOUR HEAD

Lift up your head, your crown is slipping, get on your knees, never stop praying, don’t let the distractions of this life eclipse the light of heaven, God is our refuge, he is our strength, he tells us tomorrow looks after itself, live in the moment, live for today, lift up your hands as you worship and praise, let him delight in you with shouts of Joy, let your soul bless him, may he enjoy your passionate worship, your unending prayer, rejoice, rejoice, again I say rejoice, find your voice, speak out, speak loudly, choose joy over sorrow, don’t worry about tomorrow, don’t have regrets about your past, grasp that new life that he promises, polish that crown and wear it with pride, God is good, he’s faithful and he stands at your side.
