Walking through my town, looking up at God as he looks down

Walk and pray.   Thinking about how we are anointed to do so much for God but we are also called to go, not to perform his works from a distance.

In Ephesians, we are told to armour up, verse 15 in particular says, “and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace”.  We are to go and spread peace into this world of confusion and turmoil.  We must be ready to do that as and when God calls us to.

I was just listening to an online sermon and it touched on prayer walking, going out into our own communities and petitioning God.  It’s such a great way of praying yet one I think a lot of us don’t  do enough.  When we hear of someone we know struggling is our first thought to go and pray with them?

Today I just feel the need to think about what walking and praying means for me in my journey with the Lord.

PRAYER WALK

Walking through my town, looking up at God as he looks down, asking for wisdom in how to pray, please God show me what I should say, give me your heart as I start to pray and then I feel him say, it’s simple, pray for the overwhelmed, all who stress and worry, those struggling for money, the addicted and afflicted, those living in turmoil, those who toil endlessly for peace, pray for those who have no one to pray for them, the marginalised, the terrified, the elderly and lonely, those who are depressed, oppressed, those living with mental health issues, pray for the abused and the abusers, the drug and substance users, the homeless and the jobless, the owners of the businesses, the government and our leaders, for schools and all the teachers, for industry, for regeneration at the heart of this nation, for our churches and church leaders, that you may be Jesus to this generation, salt and light in hopeless situations, pray for the sick and the dying, the bereaved and those trying to counsel the needy, pray for each home within your street, for those behind closed doors that you may never meet, for modern day slaves, for prostitutes, for those who are destitute, for all who walk apart from God which makes their journey feel so hard, pray for love to be shared, declared to all, pray for my anointing to fall.
