The passage John 9 is a reading close to my heart, some will know that I have blogged on this before, particularly in response to questions earlier in my Christian journey about why and how God can use our past. I saw further than this yesterday as our preacher spoke about the passage. About how people are so blind to what is in front of them and how no matter what proof is put in front of them their minds and hearts will not change. I think we are all at fault sometimes of trying to make our loved ones see God as we do, how we get frustrated as they fail to see what is so clear to us. But then I figured reading the end of verse 3, why don’t we just rest, relax in God and allow his works to be displayed naturally through us? Stop striving, stop worrying and allow God’s transforming love to change us, then give that change time to permeate into the consciousness of those around us..
John 9:3 – …..but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him
1 Peter 5:7 – Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you
Isaiah 30:8 – Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!
LONG STORY SHORT
Let me reintroduce myself, long story short, I’ve changed, God took the broken pieces and arranged them into this new creation, chosen, loved and blessed, Jesus stepped into the mess and confusion, embraced every part of me and literally pulled me back from the brink and if you think that I’m going to watch you walk down that path then you’re having a laugh, but I know I can’t change you, I can’t make you see what you don’t want to see but I can let you see what God’s done in me, I can trust in God’s timing and embrace the uncertainty, asking God to do for you what he did for me, then taking a massive leap of faith, step out of the way and let him do it, stop myself from interfering, trust that God will use all that he has done in me to open your eyes and help you to see, because this thing he’s done in me gives him the glory, this change in my story the perfect opportunity to showcase God’s power and authority, God changed me he can change you, I’m handing this over to God, trusting his word, trusting that your eyes will be opened, knowing that in that moment you too will be free, I praise and thank God for the day you will see..
