What you thought were ashes God made into your crown

I have been reading quite a lot recently about keeping my eyes fixed on Jesus.  In effect not stepping off the path he has laid before me, keeping strong in what I believe, planting his word in my heart, in order to remain obedient to him.  So much good advice, because whenever we keep focused on Jesus we are strong, we are purposeful and we are committed to the end goal.

Hebrews 12:2 – fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy that was set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God

This verse tells us to keep our eyes on Jesus who was the pioneer of our faith (the first one) and the perfecter of our faith (having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be).  It was only because Jesus remained sinless that he could overcome sin for us.  Just imagine Satan’s anguish as Jesus, perfect and holy, died on the cross, overcoming sin and hell for all mankind. He must have been really mad!

Fix your eyes on Jesus, not just your eyes but your thoughts, as you focus on him you will start to see the person God made you to be before Satan convinced you that you were worthless, because when you fix your thoughts on God he fixes your thoughts, he turns it around, what you thought were ashes God made into your crown, if your circumstances seem broken, have you spoken to God?  Fix your gaze heavenward where nothing can shake us, take your eyes off Jesus and you only see barriers, take your eyes off Jesus and all around the obstacles seem unstoppable, in that moment nothing seems possible, return your gaze to Jesus and he teaches us that we can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine because of his Spirit that lives inside us, our faith is that we fix our eyes on what is unseen and it means the world to us, we are not religious, we are faith filled warriors and there is no stopping us when we keep focused, keep centred on Jesus, fixate on him and his glorious Kingdom will be given to you, fix your eyes on the prize in all that you do.
