Romans 8 – what an immense chapter with so many wonderful messages in it. I particularly love verses 31 to 39 as I am sure many of you will too.
Romans 8:31-39 – What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I was reading today of some Chinese Christian women who have been arrested for their faith, let’s pray that they can remember these words in their time of trial, if God is for me, who can be against me, and let’s pray for their freedom.
WHO CAN CONDEMN?
How can we answer? Who can condemn? Who can lay a charge on me, not man, nor any power of darkness because I am blessed. I stand here and declare, if God is for me who can be against me, think about it, God, supreme and awesome is on my side, who would even dare to try to cross me as I stand with God in victory, God justifies me, God does not condemn, even though men have turned from him, embracing sin, he does not condemn, he sent his son to die, to take the sins of the world on his shoulders so that we could be forgiven of all our trespasses, Jesus rose to life, sits at the right hand of God in heaven interceding for me, pleading my case, raising my name in love and grace. I embrace his gift, his love, I claim my warrior status as more than a conqueror through him who loved us, I know for sure that nothing can separate us, death will not beat us because of Jesus, life will be fine as we align ourselves with his name, no power of the enemy is enough to remove me from God’s embrace, nothing in all creation will shadow my face from the eyes of God, forever connected, never to be separated, wrapped in the love of God that is in Jesus Christ our Lord.
