I am in awe as he works his wonders

There is no one like God.  No one comes close and that’s the wonder, the amazing thing about God.  Whilst we are modelled on him, we cannot begin to measure up to his holiness, we can try, we can have a desire to become more like him every day, but we will never achieve that goal.  But, don’t let that put you off.  To aspire to become more like God is surely the best aspiration to have.  As we change it feels good, as we change that change is noticed by others, it has an affect; it’s like your light is shining that little bit brighter and we know that people are attracted to the light.

  • Micah 7:16-17 – Our God, no one is like you. We are all that is left of your chosen people, and you freely forgive our sin and guilt. You don’t stay angry forever; you’re glad to have pity and pleased to be merciful. You will trample on our sins and throw them in the sea.
  • Exodus 15:11 –  Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you – majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?
  • Exodus 34:6-7 – And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, ‘The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin

God has taken my sins and flung them into the sea, everything I ever did wrong, every thought, act and deed, gone, sunk to the bottom of the ocean, forgiven, free from sin and free from guilt, no guilt trip coming from God, he doesn’t stay angry, he has pity on our frailty, and that’s why he’s happy to trample on my sins, banish them to the depths of the ocean, who among the gods is like my Lord, there is no one to compete he has no equal, he has no rival, majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, I am in awe as he works his wonders, the Lord who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, quick to bless, abounding in love and faithfulness, love overflowing from his fountain of grace as pardon is granted to those seeking your face, forgiveness given for our wicked behaviour, those who sin and rebel now fall to their knees in gratitude for your love and mercy, drink of your living waters, and never go thirsty
