The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it….
What amazing words to wake up to as I read the first post on a day of Prayer for the future of Britain. The earth does belong to God our creator, our world is in his hands and we as inhabitants are his children, how much more should we seek his will as our country struggles in the wake of the immense Referendum decision? And it feels good to put this into God’s hands, to know that many others around the country are praying too for God’s will to be done, it feels like we have a hope
John 16:24 – Until now you have asked nothing in my name, ask and you will receive so that your joy will be made full
Yes Lord we are asking for your love to flood this country, for reconciliation, for unity and for a clear forward path, for strong leaders who will abide in your love and truth, for compassion, for hope.
Hey God, thanks for listening to our pleas, thanks for seeing that we care and we want to share your love throughout our nation, we want to spread the elation of knowing the one true God, it’s hard to see this fear and worry, neighbour falling out with neighbour, families divided, friends undecided, yet you have provided us with the answer, bring everything to God in prayer, share this with your friends and neighbours, praying is the way to save us from uncertainty, personally; corporately; wherever two or three are in agreement your will be done, may the hurts and anger of the past be undone, may love overpower the enemy’s firepower, sourness and bitterness reversed through the witness of your church, our love a brightly shining torch lighting up our nation’s path, may we at last return to our Christian roots, the fruits of the Spirit a foundation on which to build greatness, take away the hatred and insults the result of ignorance and fear, wipe away all tears and let us build here a nation of God, holy and true, God we’ve come to you praying for breakthrough.
