We had a really interesting meeting last night where we looked at creation and our role in looking after the world that God has entrusted us with. Was a real eye opener both about what I can do personally but also what we can pray for in terms of making a global difference.
When you think about the splendour and glory of God’s creation in detail it helps you realise that we should be doing more to safeguard it and protect it and there was one verse that really stood out to show that we can make a difference, God will heal the land if we humble ourselves and pray…
2 Chronicles 7:14 – if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
I also referenced these verses which just glorify God and his amazing creation
- Psalm 92:5 – How great are your works, Lord, how profound your thoughts!
- Psalm 19:1 – The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
- Psalm 66:5 – Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind!
- Ecclesiastes 3:11 – He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
- Isaiah 6:3 – And they were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.
My God created this beautiful world and in the wonder of creation we see his majesty and splendour, our God the creator revealing his character and how fantastic that his hand is in every detail, God breathed the world into existence and now in worship I do what I can to simply give breath back to God, how great are his works and just think if God can create the world in six days imagine what he can do with your life….. Do you like it? Do you like what he’s done, his awesome deeds for mankind, everything made beautiful in its time? Holy, holy, holy the whole earth is full of his glory, come and see what God has done and see that God reveals himself to us through his creation and we mirror him, remember his words at the start of the world, “it is good” so in mirroring God whatever you do, do it well, do it with purpose, do it for God, become a guardian of creation, do what you can to protect and restore it, we are but tenants of God’s handiwork, let’s leave our mark of love and care, concerned for the long term future of our planet let’s channel our prayer and energy into reversing yesterday’s apathy, be what God created us to be, guardians of the beauty of creation where the skies proclaim the work of his hands, the heavens declare the glory of God and where humans can respect the world, his gift of love.
